The Texas Legislature approves the incorporation of the city of San Antonio. The city had previously been known as Presidio San Antonio de Béxar and the Villa of San Fernando de Béxar.
Acequia Street is renamed Main Avenue.
1917 – World War I
Regulations governing the taking of photographs at Camp Travis which will preclude the taking of any pictures showing military equipment or formations have just been made public in an order issued by command of Brig. Gen. J. A. Gaston, acting commander. The order provides that photographs of individuals and general camp scenes showing activity at the camp may be taken but no photographs shall be taken showing arms, military equipment and materiel, military combat formations of whatever nature, entrenchments, fortifications, training methods, aircraft at rest or in flight.
