San Antonio Public Library to co-host Big Library Read, world’s largest digital book club

Readers can borrow Jennifer McGaha’s “Flat Broke with Two Goats” without wait lists or holds for two weeks

When life gets your goat, use your library card. Jennifer McGaha’s debut memoir, Flat Broke with Two Goats, has been selected for the next Big Library Read, the world’s largest digital book club. Today through April 16, San Antonio Public Library card holders will be able to borrow the eBook or audiobook format of the title with no wait lists or holds. Readers can take part in the two-week program by visiting bit.ly/SAPLBigRead or by downloading the Libby app from OverDrive. Big Library Read is facilitated by OverDrive, the leading platform for eBooks and audiobooks from the library. Readers will also have the chance to win a free Kobo Aura ONE eReader from OverDrive by using #BigLibraryRead on social media.

Creative Makers and DIYers Convene at Central Library for Fourth Annual Mini Maker Faire

Visit Central Library for the fourth annual San Antonio Mini Maker Faire to explore a variety of maker and DIY projects.

The San Antonio Public Library will host the fourth annual Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Central Library. The San Antonio Mini Maker Faire is a celebration and showcase of the vibrant creative Maker community of San Antonio. Exhibiting Makers include robot builders, quilters, 3D printers, geometrical modelers, cosplayers, coders, digital media artists, and more. This event is free and open to the public with a wide range of hands-on activities, exhibits, and performances for children, teens, and adults.
