Meet Award-Winning Director and Producer Isaac Artenstein at San Antonio Public Library

Director and producer of A day without a Mexican (2004) discusses Tijuana Jews as part of The Holocaust: Learn & Remember

The film tells the story of thousands of European Jews who sailed to Mexico in the early twentieth century and provides insights into the experiences of the local pioneers who established the Jewish community in the region. Artenstein will also show previews of his recent work documenting Jewish communities in the US Southwest. Refreshments and a question and answer session will follow.

This program is provided by our partners the San Antonio Public Library Foundation, Sharkmatic Advertising, Holocaust Memorial Museum and our supporters, Carmen and Steven Goldberg, Rabbi Samuel and Lynn Stahl, and Bette and Jack Vexler.

The Holocaust: Learn & Remember is a yearly commemoration and remembrance of the Holocaust.  With this special commemoration, the San Antonio Public Library hopes to enlighten and educate the community with a series of programs that promote tolerance and help our community understand the importance of acceptance. The 2017 theme Refuge in the Americas focuses on the thousands of Holocaust survivors who fled to and settled in Central and South America.

Call 210-207-2500 or visit LearnandRemember.org or mysapl.org for more information about The Holocaust: Learn & Remember.
