Construction Update:
Scope: Provide re-roofing, recoating and associated repairs to correct and prevent water infiltration at the Central Library
Status:
Installation of the new skylights is complete, and the process of removing the scaffolding is in progress with the contractor painting the atrium walls as workers go down to the first floor. The Chihuly re-installation is now scheduled to begin in September and be complete in October. The re-roofing of the upper-most roof areas is also in progress. The south wall exterior surface skin of the building (between the library and the garage) is now being replaced to make it waterproof. Final painting will be done as the scaffolding is removed. The terrace areas are also receiving scaffolding and exterior skin replacement. Scaffolding is also being placed on the west side of the building in preparation for work to move to that area. This project is on schedule, on budget and estimated to complete spring 2011.
