Database of the Month
Featured Database Need someone to look over your resume and provide some pointers? Maybe you need a little coaching to prepare for a job interview? The specialists at the Career Center at Tutor.com are standing by, ready to help. In addition to offering resume and job interview help, the specialists are also trained to help those who are going back to school or working on a GED. Live, online assistance is available every day from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Career Center supplements the live help with a website available 24 hours a day that provides interview tips, resume templates and links to local job search sites.

You can also browse our entire database collection and get magazine and newspaper articles, find new customers for your business, locate your ancestors in Census records, connect to a live, online tutor and much more.
Dial-a-story
Dial-a-Story A story, a story - read me a story! For young children, there is always time for a story. And San Antonio Public Library is ready to help with Dial-a-story. Just call 207-4466 to listen to a terrific tale in English or Spanish. Stories change weekly, bringing the young children in your life opportunities for listening, learning and developing their love of books. Dial-a-story is sponsored by the San Antonio Express News and brought to you by the children's librarians of SAPL.
Digital Downloads
OverDrive Web Site You can now download ebooks, audiobooks, music and videos for free without leaving your home! Start browsing and checking out our rapidly expanding digital collection. Enjoy them on your computer at home or transfer your music and audiobooks to an MP3 player or iPod. These library resources are available 24/7.
Government Documents
Government Documents Government Documents, located in the Central Library, provides reference assistance with Federal and Texas documents and has a collection of approximately 150,000 government publications. Staff are available to help with Patent and Trademark searching.
Laptops for Checkout
Laptops for Checkout Borrow a laptop and access the Internet with our free WiFi. Adults can borrow laptops for two hours at a time at several branch libraries by presenting a library card and identification. Laptops are equipped with a CD-ROM drive, but they are not connected to a printer. Also a flash drive is necessary if you wish to save any documents. This service is available at: Cody, Collins Gardens, Forest Hills, Johnston, McCreless, Thousand Oaks, and Westfall.
Live Homework Help
Live Homework Help Web Site Tutor.com provides lifelong learning support for K-12 students, college students and adults in a safe online environment. Certified subject specialists cover topics like: math, science, social studies, English. SAT/GED preparation, help with essay and resume writing, and Citizenship test preparation. Tutors are available every day 3pm - 10pm; en Español Domingo a Jueves 3pm - 9pm.
Special Needs Services and Collections
NetLibrary Web Site San Antonio Public Library has a variety of resources for our patrons with special needs. Plus, all of our branches are ADA accessible. But if you are unable to visit a branch due to a physical disability, or if you are otherwise homebound, check out our Books by Mail service.
Texana/Genealogy
Texana Genealogy Web Page Located at the Central Library, the Texana/Genealogy Department acquires, preserves and offers access to research materials relating to San Antonio, Bexar County and Texas history, and North American and Hispanic genealogy. Home to historical books, periodicals, maps, newspaper clippings, city directories, census records and military records, these collections are some of the Library's most valuable resources. Texana also offers free classes each month covering genealogical research and a variety of other topics.
WiFi
WiFi @ the Library Free wireless Internet access is available to the public at every branch of the San Antonio Public Library. So if you have a laptop or other WiFi enabled device, head on over to your nearest library branch and get connected!
Wowbrary
WOWbrary Web Site The San Antonio Public Library is constantly adding to its collection. So if you’re a bookworm, movie buff, or avid music listener, find out how Wowbrary can help keep you up to date on the library's most recent additions. Once a week, Wowbrary crafts a list of the library's newest titles into an easy-to-browse website complete with images and summaries. You can even sign up to receive a weekly email of the top 20 items.
